Ambitions

Some refer to this as The Practice of Setting Goals

I like calling it the practice of Living Intentionally or Creating a Life Plan

{in hopes of living a meaningful story}.

My life Ambition:

To live freely and authentically within the depths of God’s love for me while courageously embracing who I am (imperfections included), practicing vulnerability and exercising love and compassion towards whomever I engage with.

Personal: I live intentionally, yet freely and vulnerably, within God’s love and out of the worth I have in Him, while embracing, loving and engaging in fellowship with the people around me.

Health: I consciously choose and put into action, daily, the practice of balance, control, and freedom within my eating and sweating habits.

Career: I create a career for myself in which I use my natural aptitudes and passions to support my family and contribute generously to others.

My Big, Hairy, Audacious Goal (BHAG):

By Fall 2014, I depart on a year long adventure exploring my aptitudes and passions related to people, travel, gastronomy, exercise, and writing by partnering with likeminded people around the world who are doing what they’re passionate about and talented at and are willing to share it with me.

I experienced a new state of being while connecting with myself, discovering my interests, and pursuing my passions upon moving to Istanbul. One in which I consistently felt more alive, balanced, vibrant and in the moment than ever before. Towards life. Towards everything. Wanting this state to not be just a temporary one, I made a list of the things I find deep delight and pleasure in doing and started dreaming of ways I could turn them into a career. In order to make a career out of the things I love, I knew I would need more than passion. I would need to find aptitudes, natural capabilities and talents within those passions. This meant I would need opportunities to discover my natural aptitudes. While ecstatically sharing my knowledge and excitement for coffee with an inquiring friend one day, I realized how fun it is to share your knowledge about something your passionate about and have a talent for. This got me thinking that there might be some people out there who are doing what they’re talented at and passionate about and are thus willing to share their discipline with me, an inquiring individual. Thus, my *Big, Hairy, Audacious Goal shaped and I created this site in pursuit of finding these passionate, talented and likeminded people to engage with or “intern” for.

Based off the passion I have for the following five areas:

1. people (vulnerably and genuinely connecting with and learning from those around me),

2. travel (participating and becoming involved in new places immersed around new people),

3. gastronomy (making & serving food and creating the atmosphere in which food and drink can be most enjoyed),

4. exercise (committing to consistently challenge myself with a specific activity and encouraging others to, too),

5. writing (choosing to recognize, enjoy, and share life with others via taking the time to write about it)

…I have created the list below of potential opportunities in which I could attempt to discover my aptitudes in different fields.

My hope is that this list continues to change and narrow as I discover natural abilities within certain fields and thus decide to follow in a more specific direction.
